Night Pages: 85-97

Many Jews are are running away from gunfire but many cannot survive. Zalman is a boy running next to Eliezer who cannot survive because he decides he can run no rurther and is literally killed by being ran over by everyone else running for there own lives. This is another sight that is unimaginable for us today.

After running, they find themselves in an empty village/town.

Rabbi Eliahou is a kind man who is searching for his son and Eliezer lies to the Rabbi that he has not seen his son. But, in fact, he saw his son abandon his father and Eliezer only wishes to not do what Eliahou's son did.
This book presents many interesting short-stories contained inside that show how the Jews were treated. It's shocking and ridicoulous that humans would treat others in this way.

Night Pags: 29-46

In section three of Night, Eliezer remains with his father. They later meet a prisoner who encourages them to lie about their age, while another prisoner tells them that they were only brought here to be burned. Many jews are horrified at seeing a site where babies are being burned. Many become paranoid and others begin to pray. Eliezer's father is badly beaten when he asks if he could go to the bathroom.

Many begin to pray as a way to express how they feel since they are not aloud to have freedom. They only have to chooses which are to die or do manual labor. This seems inhuman and is very shocking to some.
